Documents you need
Country-specific preliminary checklist. Extra evidence may be requested depending on passport, residency, purpose and travel history.
- Passport with at least six months’ validity after planned arrival and at least one blank page.
- Recent selfie or digital passport-style photograph.
- Phone number, email and personal particulars.
- Travel itinerary showing arrival and departure details.
- Confirmed hotel/accommodation booking or host address.
- Means of online application payment.
Important travel conditions
- Family visits: host invitation and host identification/residence document may be requested.
- Business travel: business invitation and company registration may be required.
- Vaccination/test or conference documents may be requested for specific travel purposes.
- The eTA is permission to travel, not a guarantee of admission at the border.

Is Kenya still issuing the old tourist eVisa?
Kenya replaced its old tourist eVisa system with electronic travel authorisation.
Do children require their own eTA?
The Kenyan rules generally require an eTA for every traveler, including infants, unless a listed exemption applies.
